32 VHV Trained And Graduated 15 Apr 2015
The South Fly District has recently welcomed 32 Village Health Volunteers (VHV), in a small but significant graduation ceremony in the village of Koabu.
Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) Middle and South Fly Health Program (CMSFHP) Program Manager Kelly Kewa congratulated the graduates and said the VHV training is aimed at bringing change into villages.
He said the VHV training is very important as change their way of living in the villages and such trainings like the VHV go a long way as it gives a sense of responsibility to these CMCA communities.
Mr Kewa added this training is vital and to bring change is a big challenge but we can transform our villages into healthy functioning communities.
Koabu Village Planning Committee Chairman Roy Barane in his speech challenged the new VHVs to work in partnership with their communities and urged the community to also support and accepts changes introduced by the VHVs.
