Manus Village Takes First Step To Combat Climate Change 30 Mar 2015
A Reforestation Program is currently taking place at the Derimbat village of the Enka LLG in Manus Province. The aim of the program is to plant 1000 trees to with stand climate change effects as evident in the extreme changes in weather. Climate Change Advocator Latin NDrihin who has been monitoring the program says it is a pilot project funded by the USAID and if successful will be launched out to other centers in Papua New Guinea. Mr. NDrihin reported a vast change on the coastlines along the surrounding islands and atolls of Manus as indication of the extreme effects of the climate currently taking place.
