Task Force Tails Gulf Administration For Misuse 25 Mar 2015
A police task force team with media personals will be travelling to Kerema today (Wednesday 25th March) to attend to allegations made against the Provincial Disaster Relief Committee of the Gulf Province.
Reports stated that Gulf Provincial administration under the leadership of Governor Havila Kavo misused funds for relief given by Prime Minister Peter O’Neil during the Purari River flooding and containers containing food items for victims of the flood have been located at a known location near Loloata along Magi Highway.
Kerema Town Mayor Jack Narrie says he has demanded Gulf Provincial Disaster Relief Committee a week ago to give a full expenditure report on how the funds were used.
The team is scheduled to travel at midday today to Kerema.
Attempts to the Gulf Governor’s for response were not successful.
