SHARP CASE ON MV RABAUL QUEEN ADJOURNED TO SEPTEMBER 26 23 Aug 2013
Capitan Peter Sharp's case in the MV Rabaul Queen tragedy has been adjourned to the 26th of September by Kokopo District Court Presiding Magistrate Oikaiva Oikefa. State Prosecutors requested for the adjournment to interview the Capitan of the ill-fated vessel and the manageress of the Starships Kimbe Office. The two key witnesses will play a key role in providing vital information regarding the loading capacity and the weather forecast and the condition of the sea during the day leading to the tragedy. Captain Sharp is charged with 162 counts of manslaughter and one count of sending an unworthy ship to sea.
