Works Minister, Francis Awesa is calling for the National Roads Infrastructure Act to be implemented. Mr#46; Awesa says the Act came into operation in 2010 however it has never been applied and that it was time to execute. He says penalties in the Act carry five years imprisonment and a K100, 000 fine, Mr. Awesa says the police, national government and the communities involved need to take ownership and deal with the small groups of people involved in claiming compensation payment on national roads particularly in the Highlands. He says they are already benefiting from having road access to towns, cities and medical services.
