CENTRAL PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT TO REVAMP ITS BUSINESS ARMS 02 Jan 2013
By Hura Kwarara.
The two business arm of the Central Provincial Government; The Central Province Traffic Authority and the Central Province Development Cooperation will be revamped in 2013 to generate a higher revenue base for the province.
The Government hopes to achieve this by reviewing business activities of the Traffic Authority and Central Province Development Authority together with the Central Province Investment Limited and the Papua Black Aroma Coffee, with the intent to make these commercial entities major contributors to the Governments annual budget.
It is understood that these entities, have been operating in isolation t the Central Provincial Government’s mainstream budget framework requirements.
It was highlighted during the recent handing down of the Central Provinces Budget that substantial government funding were injected in various business arms of the Central Provincial Government, however, revenue flows have been very low.
