PNG GOVERNMENT TO INITIATE FOREIGN INVESTMENT AND REVIEW BOARD 17 Dec 2012
By Dorah Gawi
The National Government will be reviewing policy and legislation to set up a foreign investment and review board.
The board will be transparent and an accountable authority determining foreign investment applications.
Prime Minister Peter ONeil says the board will comprise a number of prominent and respected Papua New Guineans who will give investors and our own business community, great confidence that foreign investment and business approval decisions are made in the national interest.
Mr. ONeil adds that he believes strongly that PNGs future prosperity and harmony, depends as much on a successful, confident and growing private sector as it does on mining, oil and gas development.
He further challenged the private sector to get the balance right when it comes to growing our economy.
